Melbourne: World number one Novak Djokovic has surpassed his Swiss rival Roger Federer as the highest prize money earner of all-time in the men`s tennis after winning the Miami Open for a consecutive third time.

Djokovic`s 6-3, 6-3 win over Japanese sixth seed Kei Nishikori in the Miami Open final pushed his on-court earnings to 98.2 million dollars.

Meanwhile, 17-time Grand Slam champion Federer has won 97.9 million dollars as prize money.

The Serbian also matched former world number one Andre Agassi`s Miami record total of six crowns on the Florida hardcourt, news.com.au reported.

With the win, Djokovic completed the US double of Miami and Indian Wells for the third year in a row and fourth time overall.
