China rolls out first one-jab COVID-19 vaccine, rival to US’s Johnson & Johnson

China has given conditional approval for a single dose COVID-19 vaccine, touted to be a rival to Johnson & Johnson's one-jab shot cleared by the US drug regulator. China's first Ad5-nCoV COVID-19 vaccine was rolled out on Friday, as per state-run media reports.

US approves Johnson & Johnson's single-shot COVID-19 vaccine

The Food and Drug Administration on Saturday (February 27) as per local time cleared a Johnson & Johnson vaccine shot.  Unlike most COVID-19 vaccines in use, it works with just one dose instead of two. During the trials, the J&J vaccine was found to be 85 per cent effective against the most severe COVID-19 illness.
