Sri Lanka indicts 25 suspects in 2019 Easter Sunday bombings

Nine suicide bombers, belonging to local Islamist extremist group National Thawheed Jamaat (NTJ) linked to ISIS, carried out a series of blasts that tore through three churches and as many luxury hotels in Sri Lanka, killing 258 people on Easter Sunday on April 21, 2019.

Sri Lanka deploys 12000 security personnel at churches ahead of Easter on April 4

Senior Deputy Inspector General and police spokesperson Ajith Rohana said, "We have tightened security of churches by deploying over 12,000 security personnel."

Sri Lanka Easter Sunday suicide bomber's wife may be in India: Report

The wife of one of the suicide bombers belonging to a local extremist group that carried out the Easter Sunday bombings in Sri Lanka killing nearly 260 people may have fled to India to avoid arrest, according to a media report.
