Price of cancelling flight tickets nearly doubled in over a year
Be ready to shell out much more if you are altering your travel plans. There has been a further hike in cancellation charges levied by airlines.

Now, airlines to pay up to Rs 20,000 per flier for flight cancellation or denying boarding
As of now airlines offer a meagre amount of up to Rs 4,000 for both denied boarding and cancelling a flight. However, from August 1, the compensation for such events paid by airlines to flier will go up to Rs 20,000 per individual.

From August 1, pay less for flight ticket cancellations
From August 1, all airlines and carriers will not be able to charge additional for cancellation of tickets more than the basic fare plus fuel surcharge.
