According to the company, under the Food Safety Standards Act, if a manufacturer adds MSG (Monosodium glutamate) in its product, then only the quantum of MSG has to be declared.

FSSAI asks state food commissioners to test all packaged items
In a letter to Commissioners of Food Safety of all States and UTs, FSSAI had asked them to test samples of noodles, pastas and macaroni (with tastemaker) on a set of comprehensive parameters. Cake and masala/tastemaker should be tested separately, the letter said.

Starbucks working with FSSAI on its pending applications
The Food Safety Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) had rejected applications submitted by Tata Starbucks for a total of 32 products in April. These rejected products include coffee frappucino, vanilla syrup and hazelnut flavoured syrups, which are still sold at the cafe chain's outlet in the heart of the capital.
