Ladakh standoff: India asks China to reduce mobilisation of troops at LAC

Senior military commanders of India and China held crucial talks on Saturday (June 6) in order to defuse the mounting tension along the border. The India delegation was led by Lt Gen Harinder Singh, Commander of the Leh-based 14 Corps while Major General Liu Lin, Commander of the South Xinjiang military region, led the Chinese side. The meeting was held at Moldo, opposite Chushul in eastern Ladakh.

India-China Army commanders meet to resolve Ladakh standoff

In an attempt to resolve the month-long bitter standoff between India and China, the top tactical army commanders of both the countries will meet on Saturday (June 6, 2020) at Chushul-Moldo border personnel meeting (BPM) point on the Chinese side of the Line of Actual Control (LAC). The meeting is likely to be held around 9:30 am.

India-China standoff timeline: How the situation evolved in Ladakh, Sikkim

India and China standoff began after China has moved two brigade strength of People’s Liberation Army of over 6000 soldiers at four locations in eastern Ladakh and three in the Galwan Valley and one near Pangong Lake. Responding to which India had also moved an equal number of high-altitude warfare troops to these areas closer to the Line of Actual Control.
