Sitharaman, 60, broke her record of a 2-hour-17- minute-long maiden Budget speech in July 2019. But will it be enough for giving a boost to the Indian economy?

Sitharaman recited a few lines from the poem which was in Kashmiri, along with its English translation, emphasising on 'hamara vatan' (our motherland) with references to the spirit of Kashmir.

Budget 2020 proposes a new tax regime that includes reductions of income tax slabs to reduce income tax rates and the total tax payable by individuals. Income between Rs 12.5 lakh and Rs 15 lakh will be taxed 25% less than the current 30%. Income above Rs 15 lakh will be subject to 30% tax.
