Can you check DMs on Instagram without being 'seen'?
Whenever a person checks the messages on Instagram, it is marked as ‘seen’ whereas WhatsApp comes with a feature that allows to turn off read receipts. But, now there are two ways-temporary and permanent solutions which allow one to check DMs without it being marked as “seen”.

Instagram launches child protection tools, cracks down on adults messaging teens
From now onwards, Instagram will start warning teens to be cautious while they talk to adults they are already in contact with on the platform. This will include safety notices (in the form of banners) inside the app that will warn users about an adult that has been “exhibiting potentially suspicious behaviour”, such as sending a large number of message requests to other minors.
