IPL 2021: 1097 cricketers register for 61 slots in mini-auction on February 18

Among these 1097 players, 207 are capped players while 863 are uncapped and 27 are from Associate nations. If every franchise were to have the maximum of 25 players in their squad, 61 players will be taken in the auction (of which up to 22 may be overseas players).

IPL 2021 mini-auction likely on February 18, says BCCI official

The BCCI is also yet to decide whether the IPL will happen in India or not even though President Sourav Ganguly has repeatedly asserted that everything possible would be done to keep the glitzy event at its home. The player retention deadline ended on January 20 and the trading window closes on February 4.

IPL 2021: Top 'released' players who may go unsold in mini-auction

The likes of Parthiv Patel, Shane Watson and Lasith Malinga have already announced their retirement from franchise cricket but here are some top names which might go unsold after being released. Kedar Jadhav's release was along expected lines but at 36 years of age, the Maharashtra batsman might find few takers in the mini-auction.
