Jharkhand eases Covid-19 curbs, allows schools and colleges to reopen from today

The decisions were taken on Monday at a meeting of the State Disaster Management Authority, chaired by Chief Minister Hemant Soren.

"Attendance shall not be mandatory for students to attend offline classes. And prior consent of guardian shall be mandatory for students to opt for offline classes," the statement read.

This state tightens restrictions amid COVID-19 surge; bans physical classes in schools

In an official order, the Jharkhand government said all shops, restaurants, clubs shall not remain open after 8 pm. However, take-home/ home delivery shall be permitted. Not more than 5 persons shall congregate at public places, the order said. All schools shall be closed and education shall be provided online or by digital content.
