Cases of the new variant Omicron variant of Covid surfaced in India. In the state of Karnataka, 2 infected of this variant have been found. Both the patients are residents of South Africa. Both the patients had come to India in connection with work.

Karnataka eases COVID curbs in 4 districts including Dakshina Kannada, shops to open from 6 am-1 pm
In an order, revenue department Principal Secretary N Manjunatha Prasad said the lockdown norms have been relaxed in Dakshina Kannada, Hassan, Davanagere, and Chamarajanagara districts with immediate effect and until 5 am of July 5.

Karnataka relaxes lockdown in 6 more districts including Bengaluru Rural, hotels and gyms open, malls stay shut
Lockdown norms were relaxed in six more districts of Karnataka, including Bengaluru Rural on Monday. All public transport services can operate with 50 percent capacity, whereas hotels, restaurants and clubs without air conditioning can operate till 5 pm.
