Indian Railways clarifies platform ticket price hike a temporary measure to stop overcrowding
Considering the upsurge of COVID in few states, Indian Railway is discouraging people from unnecessary crowding at the platforms. Rush at the platforms during pandemic situation also needs to be regulated. The exercise is in the Public interest only.

Now, platform ticket to cost Rs 10; booking of rail tickets 120 days in advance
The Railways has also decided to increase the Advance Reservation Period (ARP) for booking accommodation in trains from 60 days to 120 days (excluding the date of journey).
