RBI to shortly issue two new series of Rs 50 banknotes, old notes to remain legal
The Reserve Bank of India on Monday said it will shortly issue two series of Rs. 50 banknotes in the Mahatma Gandhi Series-2005 with inset letter `L` on the one series and `R` on the other, but the old Rs. 50 notes will continue to be legal tender.

'SBI to dispense more 20, 50 rupee notes to help public'
Maintaining that the state of panic among people is on the decline following the constant flow of cash at banks and ATMs, State Bank of India (SBI) chairperson Arundhati Bhattacharya said the bank will soon start dispensing Rs.50 and Rs.20 currency notes to further help the public.
