Russia scrambles Mikoyan MiG-29, Sukhoi Su-27, Su-30, Su-35 jets 18 times in 7 days to intercept foreign aircraft
In a bid to secure its air space and deter military and surveillance aircraft of foreign nations from violating its borders, the Russian Air Force scrambled its fighter jets 18 times between August 23 and 30, 2019. While the Russian Defense Ministry did not identify the fighters scrambled, the country has a fleet of some of the most feared combat jets in its arsenal including Mikoyan MiG-29, Sukhoi Su-27, Su-30, Su-35 aircraft.

UK Typhoon Eurofighters intercept Russian Tu-142 aircraft near Britain's airspace; Sukhoi Su-30s, Tu-95 nuclear bombers near Estonia
RAF Typhoons deployed on NATO Baltic Air Policing intercepted a Russian Tu-95 Bear bomber, heading west close to Estonian airspace. The Bear bomber was later in the flight accompanied by two Russian Su-30 Flanker fighters.

Venezuela releases video of its Sukhoi Su-30 tracking US EP-3E spy plane
The Venezuelan Defence Ministry claimed that its air force sent several military aircraft including its Sukhoi Su-30 to intercept the EP-3E which left its airspace soon after the combat jets arrived. But the US Southern Command refuted Venezuela's charges and instead accused the South American country of sending its Su-30 to aggressively shadow the EP-3E aircraft.

UK's Eurofighter Typhoon FGR4 vs Russia's Sukhoi Su-30 and Su-27: RAF releases photos of face-off near Estonia's airspace
The RAF released photos of the Eurofighter Typhoon jets, part of Operation AZOTIZE of the Baltic Air Policing mission in Estonia, intercepting the Russian Sukhoi Su-30s on June 14 and 15. Ten days later, the Typhoons were directed to intercept two Russian Sukhoi Su-27 fighters.

UK RAF Eurofighter Typhoon jets intercept Russian Sukhoi Su-30 fighters near Estonian airspace
According to the Royal Air Force, its Typhoon fighters based at Estonia's Ämari Air Base have intercepted Russian aircraft eight times since taking over the Baltic Air Policing mission on May 3, 2019. On June 15 too RFA jets had intercepted a Russian Sukhoi Su-30 fighter and an Ilyushin IL-76 Candid transport aircraft.
