Common crow, fruit bats, mice, rats vermin, not peacock: Goa govt
Downplaying the controversy surrounding proposal to classify peacock and state animal Wild Bison as 'vermin', Goa government has said in the Legislative Assembly that only common crow, fruit bats, mice and rats have been declared as nuisance animals.

Arlekar was speaking to reporters a few days after Goa's Agriculture Minister Ramesh Tawadkar said that the peacock, Great Indian bison, wild boar and certain species of monkeys could be soon declared vermin - or nuisance animals and birds.
