Coimbatore: Easter is known for coloured eggs, but the saga of coloured chicks takes it to a different ball game altogether.

Several Twitter users responded to ANI's tweet, claiming this is not a new thing. “It's been there since ages. I have seen them when I was a kid,” wrote one user with Twitter handle @deepaknrn.
The colouring of chicks is not a new phenomenon. It is practised across the world. A quick Google search threw up several articles and video on how to colour chicks.
In the United States, several states have strict laws against the practice.
“Dyed Easter chicks have been a seasonal staple in parts of the country for generations, though the practice has gone largely underground as society’s tastes have changed,” reported the New York Times.
The colour reportedly lasts for a few weeks and comes-off as chicks grow feathers later on.
