CPI(M), CPI to contest in six Jharkhand Lok Sabha seats

Left parties, CPI(M) and CPI, will contest six Lok Sabha seats in Jharkhand in the upcoming general elections.

Ranchi, Jan 25: Left parties, CPI(M) and CPI, will
contest six Lok Sabha seats in Jharkhand in the upcoming
general elections.

"CPI(M) will field Rajendra Singh Munda and Jyotin Soren
from Ranchi and Raj Mahal seats respectively and support other
Left parties in their selected constituencies in Jharkhand,"
CPI(M) politburo member Brinda Karat said here.

CPI General Secretary A B Bardhan said the party had
identified Giridh, Chatra, Jamshedpur and Hazaribag seats
where it will field candidates.

While sitting MP B P Mehta has been renominated from the
Hazaribag constituency, Bardhan said, the party is ready for
adjustments with like-minded parties in the other three seats.

Ruling out any truck with Congress, the leaders said the
Left parties were exploring possibilities of alliance with
regional parties in the state.

Bardhan and Brinda Karat were in Ranchi to attend the
state council meetings of their parties.
