New Delhi: Amazon Prime is a loyalty membership program that charges customers a membership fee but gives access to music, streaming videos, free shipping, e-books and a variety of other specific services and deals.
It is a paid service that includes $99 per year, plus a free 30-day trial or $10.99 per month, and provides a few definite advantages to Amazon shoppers. Its members are allowed for free one or two day shipping on most items along with several other advantages.
Students are also eligible (with .edu email) to avail a 6 month trial offer (Amazon Prime Student) which lets them enjoy the benefit of Prime in addition to specific offers at half the price.
Membership Fee- Amazon Prime
The membership fee of Amazon Prime is Rs 499 a year which enables the users to avail free shipping facility, bundled video streaming service, and discounts during sales. As mentioned earlier, members can opt for a 30-day free trial, which involves various benefits related with the service all free of cost. Regardless of the advantages, if a sale is about to begin or is in continuation, members will not be able to sign for the free trial.
Steps to become an Amazon Prime Member
- Switch to Amazon website or Amazon app (if present in android iOS).
- Register yourself to Amazon account if not already signed in on the website or app.
- Next, tap on the Menu symbol visible at the top left and then tap on 'Try Prime'.
- If using website, move cursor to Try prime and then click on Try Prime Free.
- Tap (or click) on Start your 30-day Amazon Prime Free Trial.
Finally, user will become an Amazon Prime member. The user will be able to enjoy free delivery, instant access to unlimited video streaming, and special offers just for members of Prime.
It would be completely free for first month, so the member need not enter his/her payment details at that point. After a month of availing the facility, it would be added to the customer's shopping cart by default. Thereafter, he can choose to pay for Prime from that point onwards.
