Washington: Toyota recently unveiled a 6 feet 3 inches (1.9 m) humanoid robot that shoots hoops better than professional basketball players.

Following are some of its features:

- Its name is Cue and the android can shoot with nearly 100 percent accuracy at short distances.

- As per Mail Online, it can score hoops by artificial intelligence. It is said to have thrown some 200,000 practice shots.

- It is 190 cm) tall. However, it is shorter than the average NBA player at 6 foot 7 inches.

- Cue has been developed by the Tokyo-based Toyota Engineering Society. 

- It squats when given a ball and then throws it using the same movements as a real player would do.

- Cue can reportedly score from distances of up to 12 feet (3.6 meters).

- It can be seen scoring free-throws during a practice shootout with real athletes in a video. 

- Cue can be seen to score 100 percent of his efforts. On the other hand, professionals Seiya Ando and Zack Baranski netted eight of their ten shots together. 

- As per reports, it is attached to a small platform connected by power cables. Thus, it cannot move around the court.

- Cue's design is based on cartoon character Sakuragi Hanamichi. It is the main character in Japanese manga Slam Dunk.

- In the show, Hanamichi is introduced to basketball after he is rejected by girls repeatedly.
