Muzaffarnagar: A trader allegedly received an extortion demand of Rs 2 lakh from a notorious criminal in Shamli district, police said on Sunday.
Ramotar was threatened by Furkan who also demanded Rs 2 lakh as extortion in Kairana town on Saturday, Circle Officer Bhushan Verma said.
A case has been registered against Furkan. The victim has been provided security by the district police, Verma said.
