Why lakes have become a threat, does climate change is the reason?
After the disaster in Uttarakhand, scientists believe that the water level of the lakes of Uttarakhand's river basin is continuously increasing. According to the report of the Himachal Pradesh Council for Science Technology and Environment, the Sutlej river basin has 769 lakes and the Chenab basin has 254 lakes. There are around 1600 lakes in the four river basins which remain a matter of concern. Special report on climate change.
