As the HLFT-42 was unveiled, a picture of Lord Hanuman was also seen on the vertical fin of the trainer. Talking about the picture, Group Captain HV Thakur (Retd.), who is now a pilot trainer with HAL, said that the HLFT-42 is the successor of HAL Marut, the first Indigenous aircraft.
