Abuja: A Nigerian man sent off his father in style by buying a new and expensive BMW car to bury his father, instead of using a coffin. The man, identified as Azubuike, who lost his father due to old age in the village of Ihiala, supposedly splashed £66,000 cash on the car to bury his father in. Reports said that Azubuike had promised his father that one day he would have a flash car.

The photo of the funeral, showing the big car being lowered into a huge grave dug six feet deep, has gone viral. Following are some of the reactions by Facebook users who were not very appreciative of the act:

"He will need 24 hours round clock around the grave for the old man to rest in peace otherwise Saraki boys will dismantle that grave" - Gbenga Olatunji.

"I hope that he didn't forget to keep the car running because of the ac the man deserves the air condition" - Tony Makeke.

"I don't care if he buries his dad with private jet... my only concern is burying together with our innocent plate number" - Michael Odike.

"I hope he didn't forget to put gallons of fuel inside the grave? Because his father will need to refill before he reaches heaven" - Zobs Bethram.

"Buy the car for your parent while he is still alive if you are moneyed and bury them with a decent coffin but this is just being foolish and showing off" - Sifiso Inno Makhashila.

"Insanity and selfishness regardless of that fact that is your cash" - Calvin Cal Diamean.
