New Delhi: A video of a groom and his family in Haryana demanding ‘Fortuner’ car, jewellery and money in dowry on the day of the wedding has gone viral on Facebook.
In a 29 minutes 56 seconds video, which captures a conversation between both the families, the bride’s father can be seen narrating the whole incident to media and police officers while the groom’s side denies the allegation tooth and nail.
In the clip, Yogendra Tomar, the bride’s father accuses the groom and his father of demanding a 'Fortuner car' on the day of the wedding. He said that the groom’s family refused to carry on with the ceremonies until their demands are met.
The bride’s father further alleged that his family tried to convince the groom and his family for four hours and urged them to carry on the wedding but the groom’s family denied doing so.

On the other hand, Naseeb, the groom can be seen alleging that his father-in-law was lying and they did not demand anything in dowry.
“In fact, when my father-in-law asked me to if I wanted a car, I told him I’ll buy one with my money in the next 2-3 years,” said the groom.
On being asked why a father would lie at his daughter’s wedding, Naseeb said that his father-in-law gifted him a gold ring and his father a gold chain, which they denied accepting for some personal reasons.
“Our denial irked them and they created the whole dowry scene,” Naseeb added.
The video also shows the groom’s father and uncle accusing the bride’s side of creating a ruckus for no reason.
Subsequently, the bride’s father keeps on emphasizing the fact that why would someone want to spoil their daughter’s wedding.
Meanwhile, the bride can be seen sitting at the very spot with her family as the police officers on the scene try to resolve the situation.
Sub Inspector Niranjan, who was present at the scene, said that as soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot and both sides are being heard.
“We will initiate an investigation if they will lodge a formal complaint,” the SI said.
