Ashok Leyland bags $50 mn order from Zimbabwe

New Delhi: Hinduja Group flagship company Ashok Leyland on Wednesday said it has bagged an order worth USD 50 million (nearly Rs 300 crore) from the Zimbabwe government for the supply of 670 vehicles.

"The company has bagged a contract from the Ministry of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Government of Zimbabwe, for supply of 670 vehicles valued at approx USD 50 million," Ashok Leyland said in a filing to the BSE.

"The order is planned to be executed in the financial year 2014-15," it added.

In a separate filing, the company said it has merged Ashley Services Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary, with itself.

Ashok Leyland shares today closed at Rs 23.40 apiece on the BSE, up 3.31 percent from its previous close.
