Sydney: Sophie Monk has spoken of the trials of settling into a life in Los Angeles as she enjoys a vacation in Sydney.
"I stayed at someone`s place and she went crazy," Monk says. "She said she was going to pull a gun on me. I`d just come fresh off the boat - I didn`t know what to do. Then I lived with another guy in this guesthouse and he used to come in the middle of the night and unlock the door," a news daily quoted her, as telling a mag.
"I came here and no one knew what I did or where I came from. I had no friends."
Although Monk has pals in the city now, at times she still doesn’t know how to deal with men.
She said` "I hate it…. They ask for your number and then say, "I`ll ring you right now so you`ve got my number." So you have to give them the right number. I just ignore the calls."
And the sexy lass, who is now dating a plastic surgeon, feels she is finally living a balanced life.
Monk said,"I mean, you have a boyfriend and you`ll say, "I`m going to go get a manicure," and they`re like, "Cool - me, too!" In Australia, men don`t do that.
"I try to date someone out of the industry and now I have. That`s the way to do it to keep balanced and healthy."
