Advani`s dream of becoming PM will remain dream: Lalu

Claiming that he has joined hands with the LJP and the SP to stop "communal and divisive forces" from coming to power at the Centre, Lalu Prasad on Monday vowed to again scuttle the plans of L K Advani.

Chandigarh, May 11: Claiming that he has joined
hands with the LJP and the SP to stop "communal and divisive
forces" from coming to power at the Centre, RJD supremo Lalu
Prasad on Monday vowed to again scuttle the plans of L K Advani,
who is "dreaming" to become the Prime Minister of the country.

"We had stopped L K Advani`s Rath in Bihar earlier and
this time too, his dream of becoming PM will remain a dream,"
Lalu said addressing a poll rally here in support of party
candidate from Chandigarh Lok Sabha seat Hafiz Anwar-ul-Haq.

"Those people who sow seeds of hatred between brothers
and communities can never become the Prime Minister of this
country," he said making a scathing attack on BJP`s Prime
Ministerial candidate Advani.

Stating that his fight was against the BJP, RSS, Bajrang
Dal and the Shiv Sena, Union Railway Minister alleged "these
forces are out there to spread poison in our society and breed
hatred among the communities.

"I will not allow these forces to gain strength till the
last drop of my blood," he said.

Calling Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi "a
murderer", the RJD chief said, "Narendra Modi is a murderer in
Gujarat riots. ...Even the Supreme Court has ordered that the
riots be probed by an independent investigating agency."

He lashed out at Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for
sharing dais with Modi at the NDA rally in Ludhiana yesterday
and said his "so called secular mask has been exposed."

"Look, how Nitish was seen hugging Modi and shaking hands
with him. It was Nitish who had said that he will bowl out
Lalu on zero in the elections, but now by joining hands with
Modi, he himself has hit a sixer," Lalu charged.

Taking pot shots at the NDA "Maha rally" at Ludhiana,
Lalu said it was an attempt to be-fool the people by allegedly
faking it as a show of strength.

"The truth is that NDA partners including Jayalalitha,
Chandrabau Naidu, Farooq Abdullah and others have deserted it
and it has been disintegrated long ago," he claimed.

Targeting young BJP leader Varun Gandhi, who was booked
under NSA for his alleged hate speeches, the RJD president
said he was again inflaming the passions of people with his
"venomous speeches".

He also raked up the Babri mosque demolition issue and
said the forces who were responsible for it were again
spitting venom.

Seventeen crore Muslims of this country were well aware
of their nefarious designs, he added.

Claiming that "nobody can stop UPA from coming back to
power" at the Centre, he said, "The way people had rejected
the communal and divisive forces in 2004 polls, they will be
made to bite the dust in the current elections too".

Referring to the Indo-US Nuclear Deal, the minister said
India`s power shortage problems would become a thing of past
after a few years.

On Indo-Pak relations, Lalu said that the two neighbours
had gained nothing from the wars.

"The wars between India and Pakistan in the past have
only brought destruction and misery for the people on both
sides," he said, adding for any country to progress peace was
essential.

Lalu also touched upon how he had improved the state of
Indian railways as Railways Minister.

"Students and professors from Harvard and MIT (US) come
to me and ask me how I did this. They are amazed how I have
transformed the railways. Now, Lalu has become the Professor
to the whole world," he said in a lighter vein.

It is for the first time that RJD is fighting polls from
Chandigarh, which is set to go to polls during the last phase
of the Lok Sabha elections on May 13.
