New Delhi, May 08: In a bid to woo passengers travelling to US from India, the Emirates, which connects UAE and Indian cities every day, today announced launching of daily non-stop flights to New York from Dubai from June 01.
The decision was taken after the airlines invested USD 1.8 billion on its new fleet of airbus a340-500's for long-haul travel.
"The launch of the New York route enables our passengers to continuously discover new destinations as we expand our global network," Emirates vice president for India and Nepal Abdullah Nasser Abdullah Hussain said while making the announcement for launch of the new flight.
The new flight could be beneficial for Indian passengers travelling to the United States as there were 43 non-stop flights connecting major Indian cities to Dubai, he said.
Indian passengers wishing to travel to the US could now hop on to Dubai and get onboard the non-stop flight. So far they have to make a stop over in Europe and take a connecting
flight to the US.
