Fiat launches Siena weekend priced at Rs 7.27- Rs7.87 lakhs

The car, to be sold in both petrol and diesel versions has been priced at Rs 7.27 lakhs and Rs 7.87 lakhs (ex-showroom - Delhi) respectively, FIL's Managing Director G V Ravina told reporters at the launch on Sunday.

The five-door hatchback car would have a 1600cc multi-point-injection (MPI) petrol engine with 16 valves and an 1700cc turbo charged diesel engine which will deliver 98 and 63 Brake Horse Power (BHP) respectively, he said.

An optional safety package including driveside airbags with pre-tensed seat belts and Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) would also be offered for an additional Rs 60,000 by the end of this year, FIL's Commercial Director Enrico Fererro said.
“Even though station wagons are new to India, we believe that this market segment will grow to the levels like that in Europe and America,” Ferrero said and added the company has targeted to sell about 600 such cars in 2000 and about 1,500 to 2,000 units next year.
Ravina said that the Siena weekend' is the second model to be launched in the country from the parent company, Italian auto maker fiat spa's 178 model world car project.
