Jagsonpal Pharma reports Rs 2.31 cr profit

New Delhi, May 07: Jagsonpal Pharma has reported a net profit of Rs 2.31 crore for the quarter ending March 31, 2004, against a loss of Rs 1.02 crore in the corresponding quarter the previous year, and recommended a bonus of three equity shares for every one held.

The board of directors of the company, who met on April 30, also approved a stock split into two shares of Rs five each for each share of Rs ten held.

Sales in the quarter ended March went up by 75 per cent to Rs 38.52 crore against Rs 19.51 crore in the same period last year, the company said in a statement.

The current earning per share (EPS) is Rs 28.32 (annualised), with current trading at a p/e of 6.21, it said.

The company said its foray into the pharmaceuticals
segment had been significant, notching a business of Rs ten
crore in the first year.

"The product is expected to contribute significantly to
the total business in the current fiscal," it said.
