Jigisha Ghosh murder case trial from Aug 28

Trial in the murder case of IT executive Jigisha Ghosh is likely to begin against five persons, also accused of killing Soumya Vishwanathan, in a Delhi court which fixed the matter for arguments on framing of charges on Aug 28.

New Delhi: The much-awaited trial in the
murder case of IT executive Jigisha Ghosh is likely to begin
against five persons, also accused of killing TV scribe Soumya
Vishwanathan, in a Delhi court which received the records from
a sub-ordinate court on completion of the probe.

Additional Sessions Judge S K Sarvaria today fixed the
matter for arguments on framing of charges on August 28
against the accused, who have also been booked under stringent
provisions of the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crimes Act
(MCOCA).

Metropolitan Magistrate Sourav Pratap Singh Laler
recently committed the case for trial to the sessions court
after the police concluded its probe and filed the chargesheet
against the accused under various provisions of the IPC,
dealing with murder, criminal conspiracy and robbery.

Ghosh (28) was killed in the wee hours of March 18
while returning from a call centre. The recovery of the weapon
allegedly used in the murder of Ghosh had led to the cracking
of the killing of Soumya Vishwanathan, a journalist of
Headlines Today.

Ravi Kapoor, Amit Shukla, Ajay Kumar, Baljit Malik and
Ajay Sethi have been made accused in the murder case.

The police, which filed the chargesheet against them
on June 20, claimed that robbery was the motive behind both
the murders which took place in a posh locality of Vasant
Vihar in south Delhi within a span of six months.
