New Delhi, Aug 28: The counter-insurgency operations against the Hizbul Mujahideen have been resumed following the collapse of cease-fire talks, Union Home Minister L.K. Advani said here on Monday.
The militant organization had announced a unilateral ceasefire on July 24, but withdrew it alleging that the Indian government had not been offering to come to the table without a precondition and was against including Pakistan in the talks. The operation has now been resumed with the collapse of the peace talks, Advani said during the BJP National Council meeting which concluded on Monday in Nagpur.
The government had not till now confirmed whether operations had been resumed against the Hizbul, saying the two sides were still in contact.
