Pawale found guilty in 1993 blasts case

A close associate of prime absconding accused Tiger Memon was on Monday found guilty of causing bomb blasts at the Air India building and another in the vicinity of Sena Bhavan, killing 24 persons on March 12, 1993.

accused Tiger Memon was on Monday found guilty of causing bomb
blasts at the Air India building and another in the vicinity
of Sena Bhavan, killing 24 persons on March 12, 1993.

Mohammed Farook Mohammed Yusuf Pawale was found guilty of
taking part in the conspiracy in the bomb blasts case,
visiting Pakistan for arms training and surveying targets, Air
India building and Bombay Stock Exchange.

Judge P D Kode found him guilty on 23 counts under IPC
Tada (P), Exlosive Substances Act, explosives act and damage
to property act.

The court said it had accepted his confession as well as
that of approver Mohammed Usman Jaan Khan besides considering
account of an eyewitness.

Pawale was found guilty for parking a car at the rear end
of Air India building in front of Oman Bank, which exploded
killing 20 persons and injuring 84.

Pawale was also found guilty of parking a van loaded with
explosives between Sena Bhavan and lucky petrol pump which
exploded killing four persons and injuring 50.

He faces punishment ranging from five years to life and
even death.
