Mumbai, April 01: What’s common between Rani Mukerji and Amitabh Bachchan? They are both fighting for their lands.

Rani Mukherjee will move the Aurangabad bench of the Bombay high court on Wednesday to challenge Ahmednagar District Collectorate`s order cancelling
her ownership of a plot near Shirdi due to irregularities in
the deal.

"We will be moving the high court against the governments forfeiture of Rani`s land," her lawyer Nanasaheb Chaudhary said to the news agency from Shirdi.

The sultry actress, who lost the 11000 sq ft land that she purchased near Sen End Hotel in Shirdi in the year 2005, is all set to get that land back. Speaking to Zeenews, Rani said, “I will look at all the options available to me. I will go to the court if required."

The actress maintains that she had purchased that land legally and had fulfilled all the necessary requirements. Rani bought the 11000 sq ft land for Rs 33 lakh. She further adds, "I had in no way breached the law and had even paid a sum of Rs 1,35,000 as the necessary duty on the land."

The court had earlier declared that no one has the right to own the land as it is belonged to Maharashtra State Farming Corporation, and was extended on a lease.

Our sources tell us that the original owner of the land was a farmer, who with the permission of the government had started a brick kiln in 1981. After that time, the property rates of the region increased immensely, he sold the land to a man by the name Sampat More. In turn, Sampat sold it to Rani for Rs 33 lakh.

But, when the question of legality arose, a case was registered and finally after two years, decision was announced supporting the government and Rani lost her possession.

However, Rani remains undeterred and is determined to get the ownership of her land back. The actress states that she has been targetted for being a media personality and has done no wrong whatsoever.
