Seven out of 13 MCD engineers granted bail

Seven out of 13 MCD engineers, who have been arrested on graft charges in different criminal cases registered against them between 2003 to 2006, were on Monday granted bail by a court here.

New Delhi, Sep 15: Seven out of 13 MCD engineers, who have been arrested on graft charges in different criminal cases registered against them between 2003 to 2006, were on Monday granted bail by a court here.
Special Judge A S Yadav allowed their release saying that no purpose would be served by keeping them in jail as they were arrested on September 11.

The accused -- Pankaj Goel, S K Jain, Satya Narayan, Rajesh Sharma, Vishwambhar Dayal Gupta, A K Gupta and C B Singh -- were asked to furnish personal and surety bonds of Rs
25,000 each.

The Anti-Corruption Bureau of Delhi Government, which was
investigating eight cases, arrested the engineers on September
11 after obtaining requisite permission from the authorities for their prosecution.

The cases related to charges of misusing funds through various modes including substandard construction work.
