Yashwant Sinha to head IMF/World Bank panel

Finance Minister Yashwant Sinha has been chosen to chair the World Bank/International Monetary Fund development committee, replacing Thai counterpart Tarrin Nimmanahaeminda, an IMF statement said on Monday.

The 24-member committee, representing the full membership of the Bank and the Fund, advises the institutions on the needs of developing countries.
The committee will next convene in Prague on September 25 under Sinha`s leadership. Most of the members are finance ministers.
