DANICS-cadre officers' strike a deliberate attempt to fail 'Odd Even Scheme' in Delhi: Manish Sisodia

New Delhi: Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Thursday termed the strike by DANICS-cadre and IAS officers as a deliberate attempt to fail 'Odd Even Scheme' of Delhi government to control pollution.

Hitting out at the striking officers, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader said the Officers Associations should stop behaving like B-team of BJP and should think why Lt Governor Najeeb Jung and the Prime Minister's Office are too keen to hear them today.

In a series of tweets, Sisodia, a close confidante of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said: “Why PMO & LG have never acted on other issues they have been raising since long? And never, these officers went on strike like this?”

Here are some of his other tweets:

The AAP leader's reaction comes after the Ministry of Home Affairs termed the suspension of two DANICS-cadre officers as 'non est' (does not exist) and said the two officers should be considered deemed to be on duty.

The two officers - Subhash Chandra and Yashpal Garg - belonging to Delhi, Andaman and Nicobar Islands Civil Services were suspended after they allegedly refused to sign Delhi government cabinet notes pertaining to a salary hike for public prosecutors and prison staff.

After their suspension, the DANICS officers went on mass leave today protesting the "illegal" suspension of their two colleagues by the AAP government.
