Mumbai, Jan 22: About twenty six bureaucrats were on Thursday issued notices by the Pradhan Committee probing the Mumbai terror assault.

The 26 IPS and IAS officers have been asked to disclose information about the professional decisions they took immediately after the attacks.

The names of some top shots of the bureaucracy have also been short-listed by the independent panel investigating the assault on the country’s financial capital. All have been asked via the written notice as to what they did on the fateful night of November 26.

The panel asked them five questions:

-Where were you on the fateful night?

-What steps did you take to stop the attack?

-What action did you take after receiving the report?

-What are the preventive steps that you plan to take to counter terror incidents?

- In future what would you do in a similar situation?

A timeframe of 15 days has been given by the committee to the officers and the state police force is also being held accountable of what steps are being taken to prevent the recurrence of such violent incidents in future.

The committee headed by former Nagaland Governor and ex-Union Home Secretary R D Pradhan was formed by the Maharashtra government last month after around 200 people lost their lives in its soil falling victims to the worst ever terror attack in India’s history on November 26, 2008.
