New railway saloon for President

New Delhi: President Pratibha Patil will
have a stately saloon being prepared by Railways for her
comfortable train journey.
The saloon will have a meeting room, dining room and a
study, besides a cosy bedroom, sources said, adding the saloon
is expected to be rolled out in an year`s time from Integral
Coach Factory in Kapurthala.

The saloon will also have a separate coach for the
presidential staff, including enclosures for doctors and
security staff.

The Presidential Saloon is a pair of coaches (numbered
9000 and 9001) reserved for exclusive use by the President of
India.
The old Presidential saloon was declared un-serviceable
in 2006.
