New Delhi: After unusual comments from Congress spokesperson Shashi Tharoor on Wednesday that the Opposition would be "churlish" in ignoring the voices of inclusive outreach of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the party today distanced itself from the former minister`s views of Modi.

Tharoor had yesterday described the Indian Prime Minister as “Modi 2.0 which has replaced Modi 1.0”. In his article on an American news website, Tharoor emphasised that “Modi and the BJP have eschewed the hubris and triumphalism they might have been assumed to have earned with their sweeping victory.”
He argued, in the post, that Modi has re-branded himself from a hate-figure into apostle of development. Praising Modi, the Congress spokesperson said that the Indian PM, in the couple of weeks since his election, has been conciliatory and inclusive in both his pronouncements and his actions.
However, the his praise for Modi didn`t go down well with the grand-old Congress and party leader Shobha Oza said while addressing the media said that Tharoor`s views for the government are his personal and that it is too early to express these views as far as the party is concerned.
