A new tiger tracking system will be launched soon, announced the Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar. This system will be launched by The National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) in collaboration with the Wildlife Crime Control Bureau .

New Delhi: A new tiger tracking system will be launched soon, announced the Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar. This system will be launched by The National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) in collaboration with the Wildlife Crime Control Bureau .

In his address to the 10th meeting of the NTCA, Javadekar informed that the new system will be based on track counts and will help in controlling wildlife crimes in tiger reserves. He said a special "alert system" would also be utilised in case of disasters pertaining to fire and floods.

He further said the government believed in development in consonance with conservation.

Emphasising the need to conserve the tiger reserves in the country, he said there was a need to make wildlife conservation a "people's movement".

It was critical for each stakeholder to participate in making tiger conservation a reality, and states needed to be critical stakeholders in the effort to preserve the tiger population in the country, he said.
