agreement regarding Iran`s nuclear program.
The White House says the leaders agreed yesterday to consult regularly on efforts by the US, Britain, France, China, Russia and Germany to negotiate a comprehensive solution that would satisfy international concerns about Iran`s nuclear intentions.
A weekend agreement between the parties temporarily puts the brakes on parts of Iran`s disputed nuclear program and allows for more intrusive international monitoring of its facilities.
In return, Iran gains relief from stiff economic sanctions and a pledge that no new penalties will be imposed during the six months the parties have to iron out a more comprehensive agreement.
Iran says its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes and not meant to build a weapon.
