 Ahead of the proposed ‘Bharat Bandh’ on February 6, BKU leader Rakesh Tikait has warned that the farmers protesting against the Centre’s farm laws will hold a massive tractor rally if the government does not concede to their key demands by October. “We have given the government time till October. If they do not listen to us, we will go on a pan-country tractor rally of 40 lakh tractors,” Rakesh Tikait, BKU leader, said.

Internet services suspended in Delhi's Singhu, Ghazipur and Tikri border areas till this date

The Ministry of Home Affairs  (MHA) on Monday extended the temporary suspension of internet services in Delhi's borders at the Singhu, Ghazipur and Tikri border areas due to the farmers' ongoing protests against centre's farm laws. The internet services in these areas have been suspended till 11 PM, February 2, the MHA order said.

The arrests come following the tractor rally on 72nd Republic Day that turned violent when some protesters deviated from the pre-agreed routes. The protestors also breached barricades and clashed with police, in which, over 400 police personnel were injured, and 30 police vehicles were damaged.

Singhu border violence: Man who attacked Alipur SHO with sword among 44 arrested

The Delhi Police said among the 44 people arrested is 22-year-old Ranjeet Singh who attacked SHO (Alipur) Pradeep Paliwal with a sword. Trouble began when nearly 200 people from local villagers reached the Singhu border and demanded that the the protesters vacate the area and open the border.
