Manish Sisodia reviews arrangements for farmers at Ghazipur, says this about Republic Day violence

Delhi's deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia visited the Ghazipur border in the national capital to view several arrangements made by the Delhi government for the protesting farmers. Sisodia's visit comes after Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) spokesperson Rakesh Tikait requested chief minister Arvind Kejriwal to provide water and other basic facilities to the famers.

Anna Hazare to begin indefinite fast over farmers’ issues from January 30

Anna Hazare has alleged that the Centre has been ignoring his pleas of the farmers’ issues. "We have kept our demands before the Central Government time and again. I have written letters to the Prime Minister and Union Agriculture Minister five times in the last three months. Representatives of the government are discussing the matter but they haven't reached a proper solution regarding the demands so far," he added.

Punjabi actor-turned-activist Deep Sidhu, who is facing intense criticism for his alleged role in the Red Fort violence on Tuesday, has hit out at the farmer leaders who have labelled him as a traitor and blamed him for trying to defame their agitation against farm laws. Sidhu, 36, has instead blamed the farmer union leaders for the chaos and violence during their tractor march and claimed that the youths did not agree to follow the route which was decided by farmer leaders and the Delhi Police.

Home Minister Amit Shah meets cops injured during farmers’ tractor rally in Delhi

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday mett Delhi Police personnel who were injured in the violence during the farmers' tractor rally on January 26th. The Home Minister met one of them at Tirath Ram Shah Hospital in Delhi and interacted with him. He is visiting the two Delhi hospitals - Shushrut Trauma Centre and Teerath Ram Hospital - where three police personnel injured in the violence have been admitted in north Delhi.

Farmer unions cancel Budget day march to Parliament, but agitation against farm laws to continue

As widening cracks in their ongoing agitation against the three farm laws after the violence during Tuesday’s tractor parade, farmer unions have now cancelled their planned march to Parliament on February 1 when the Union Budget 2021-22 would be presented. They, however, said on Wednesday that their agitation against the farm laws will continue and public meetings and hunger strikes will be held across the country on January 30 on Mahatma Gandhi's death anniversary to emphasise on peace and non-violence.

The Delhi Police has named Punjabi actor and singer Deep Sidhu and gangster-turned-social activist Lakha Sidhana in an FIR in connection with the violence at the historic Red Fort.
It has registered the case against them at the Kotwali police station of North district. The two have been booked under relevant sections of the IPC, the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act and other legislations.

The farmers' tractor march in the national capital on Republic Day took a violent turn as a section of protesters broke police barricades and entered parts of the city which was not earmarked for their protest.
