Uttarakhand tragedy: ITBP-DRDO team reaches artificial lake site in Chamoli, death toll rises to 60

A joint team of the ITBP and DRDO on Thursday (February 17) reached a high-altitude artificial lake, the confluence of Rishiganga and Raunthi Gad. This high-altitude artificial lake in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand is suspected to have been formed after the recent flash floods.

Uttarakhand disaster: 36 bodies recovered till now, rescue operations continue for 4th day; in pics

The glacier burst in Uttarakhand's Chamoli district has left many in distress. NDRF and SDRF personnel teamed up with the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) to mount rescue operations. 

Over 168 people remain missing on the fourth day of rescue operations. Authorities said that out of 36 bodies discovered by the personnel only 10 bodies have been identified.

Uttarakhand Glacier Tragedy: 202 people missing since the accident

More than 24 hours have passed since the tragedy struck Uttarakhand and more than 200 people are still missing, while at least 18 have died after part of a glacier broke away in the Chamoli district and triggered a massive avalanche.
